GIC donates Smart Irrigation Controller to Cape Fear Botanical Gardens

As part of the GIC Water Wise initiative to promote water saving
throughout North Carolina, GIC donated a Smart Irrigation
controller valued at $3,500.00 to the Cape Fear Botanical Garden
(CFBG). GIC President Buddy Murrow (Charlotte, NC) says "we
are pleased to be able to support the CFBG and several other public
gardens across North Carolina with the contribution of Smart
Irrigation technology in order to demonstrate and promote the
significant water savings that can be achieved.

Brad Goodrum, a member of Fayetteville Technical Community
College's Horticulture Department, and Secretary-Treasurer of the
GIC, presented the controller to Carol Fleitz, Director of
Horticulture and Facilities, Cape Fear Botanical Garden.
The North Carolina Green Industry Council (GIC) a statewide
umbrella organization representing all segments of North
Carolina's "Authentic Green Industry" which includes nursery,
flower, sod and Christmas tree growers as well as landscape, turf
management and irrigation contractors. The GIC is also recognized
as an advocate and leader of environmental stewardship.
